Many teachers begin class by reciting the Invocation to Patanjali. This ritual honours yoga’s classical roots and serves as a mindful transition from our often hectic day to focused time on the mat. If you’d like to learn the words, ask your teacher for a handout with the English transliteration. You can also simply listen and connect with the vibration of the sounds.
